I think Neill Blomkamp should be praised for district 9. That should be the future. He managed to make a sci-fi action movie with around 20 million dollars.

Inglourious Basterds had a lot of promise, and I think he dropped the ball on what that movie could have been. The only thing that saved it in my opinion was that it wasn't historically accurate. At all. Brilliant move.

If avatar wasn't 3d I would have asked for my money back. Also, I got a headache about 2/3 of the way through the movie, when it felt like it should have been over.

Damn, you beat me to all of the QFTs.

District 9 was jaw-dropping and not because of the special effects. It takes huge cajones to take on the issue of prejudice and discrimination in SA, but to put it into the context of a SF flick was beyond brilliant.

Tarantino is the shit. Period. But 3/4 of the way through Inglorious Basterds got boring. Really, really boring. But you're right, the acting, dialogue, and most of the direction was positively superb.

James Cameron is a dick. He peaked with the original Terminator, imo. I mean, really, the dude did Titanic. Yeah, there's another flick where the ending was a big surprise. He's like Al Gore with a CGI army.

At no point did I ever think Inglourious Basterds was boring, maybe its because I actually enjoy dialog and realistic story development
