also awaiting the arrival of the office.
so apparently lost is cutting the season in half again and won't air until everything else comes back. i guess to compete with all the new shows? seems silly to me.

disclaimer: i know nothing about this. anything i say is just hearsay
i think the idea is you don't put a heavyweight revenue generator up against a light weight. If the competition isn't putting out the expensive, big earning content (for the big media companies) it's a waste of money to air a high-ratings/viewership show when all you need is one that generates medium viewership. Otherwise, they have to lower the price of advertising. eg, if LOST is going up against reruns of [insert late 90s sitcom here] in the same timeslot - a business will say "well we can advertise for $10k on the sitcom rerun, or $100k on LOST. Lower the price and we'll think about Lost." But when popular content on different networks faces of eg Lost vs. Heroes - The media companies can start a bidding war and push prices up for the prime ad slots.

for those of you with access to these...I have found that british tv shows are keeping me entertained while this is going on. I have gotten extras, QI, robin hood, the uk version of the office. May help you get over your loss until new shows keep returning with a degree of certainty, or help you over the summer.
