I just finished reading the first Mass Effect novel entitled Mass Effect: Revelation and was just wondering if anyone else has read it and what they thought of it. I just started reading the second novel entitled Mass Effect: Ascension. If you enjoyed the video game Mass Effect, I strongly recommend these books. Both follow the video games story line and helps explain more about the Mass Effect universe.
Games based on books are much better than books based on games. I have read Baldur's Gate (both of them) and the first of Halo, Starcraft, and Alpha Centauri, and none of them warrented buying the sequels.

I wouldn't really consider this a book based off a series. I would consider it more of the story. Revelation explains what happened before the game, which helps explain a few things that occur at the beginning of the game.
Yeah, I agree. This isn't like the Halo books. The first book was released before Mass Effect even came out. Yes it was given out at E3 to help bring people into the story line and get hyped for the game but it's actually a book that expands the M.Effect universe and storyline.
Hell, this is basically just books from a game that is nothing but a Epic story. Much more to work with too. I haven't read them yet but want to.

Just finished Mass Effect: Ascension. If you are looking to read these, I would recommend you play the game, if you have access to it, before reading Ascension. For those who have played the game, Ascension is centered around the activities of the group Cerberus.
