I got an email saying I need one, but I'm not taking any classes on the list the email provides. I think I stumped IT. Does anyone else have this problem?

Can someone please tell me what this 'clicker' shit is about? I got an IT email that I need one for PHYS 24.
They're experimenting with different ways to incorporate technology in the classroom. The clickers are used for in-class quizzes, group exercises and a variety of other things. Now, whether your instructors will use them properly, I have no idea.
This is one piece of technology I've used with little success, but I've never had a huge amount of trouble getting classes to speak up. I suppose if the instructors are taught how to use them properly, it might be ok.
I looked into this and found out that BIO SCI 231 was originally going to use the response cards (clickers) but then decided not to. So you don't need to get a clicker. Sorry for the confusion. If you have any questions in the future about cliskers, you would normally talk to UMR Bookstore.

I called the bookstore this morning, and they said that only one person can be registered to each clicker. If that's the case, guess I'll have to bend over and take it like a good boy then drop my $35 for a new one. Anyone know any different? Otherwise, guess I'll have to pass on the offers above. Thanks anyway.
they just mean you cant use one for two people at the same time, they never register it to an actual person, or i know mine isnt registered
I finally got through to someone who knows more about it than the last one I spoke to. Apparently, there are two kinds used: one is the size of a credit card, and the other one is considerably bigger. The one I need for PHYS 24 is the smaller one, and I will have to go to the bookstore to register it for that class; but I can use an old one as long as it is the right one (smaller). If that's the one you have, give me a time and place and I'll come pick it up (but I'm not in Rolla until Friday around 7:00pm).
