Okay, IMO, science classes are horrific. But, I have to take some to get my teaching degree. I have a choice between taking physics 6 and 8 or Geology 51 and 52. What exactly does "an exploration of physics without the use of mathematics" mean? Then, I have a choice between Biology 110 and 112 or Biology 251 (I don't understand why the second one is a choice if the first is its prerequisite, go figure). Mostly with this one, who is the best prof and how hard is CLEPing out of it (someone said that I would be better off if I did that)? Oh, and what all do we have to dissect? How many points do we miss out on if we skip one or two or all of the dissections?

Thanks!

Geo 51 is very easy, from what I have heard. I know a lot of GE's that take it instead of GE 50 because it is not as technical and graded a lot easier. It is the intro class for all Geologists at this school, and I beleve Civils have to take it as well.

Bio 251 is ecology. You don't dissect anything, there is no lab involved, and there are no prereqs. It's an easy freshman level class. I don't know if the general bio lab dissects stuff or not. From what I've heard it's easy to get out of general bio lecture, but I know it's a really easy class whether taken during the regular semester or the summer, but especially easy in the summer.

Physics 6 or 8, isn't one of those astronomy? I took astronomy at Meramec in STL over the summer and it was the easiest class I've had. Not sure if it would be the same at UMR, but I imagine it is. If you know that the sun is bright and hot, and that giant asteroids hitting the earth can be bad, you're pretty much guaranteed an A.
