Trying to decide whether to take tech comm Sp2011.... or kick it into the future

Is it a class that ALL majors need? I may be switching from EE to life sciences such as BioChem.

Also, how much of a "load" is it as regards to coursework and time?

It is required for all engineering majors, but I don't know about other science or lib-arts majors.

As far as class load, that depends entirely on your instructor. If you get one that is comfortable with the diminished role his class's educational value holds, you'll have weekly papers of various formats due, and likely a semester-long report project. If your instructor has the inferiority complex so commonplace among that department, you can look forward to a semester of difficult projects with inconsistent grading, obvious favoritism to lib-arts majors, and maybe a B if you can kiss ass enough.

Good luck, I hated the H-SS department, with the exception of a few professors. Still, nothing else there produces any response even close to the hatred I had for the Math department. You kids today don't know how lucky you have it. And that phrase alone makes me feel old. :(

Not required for the Chemical & Biological Engineering department. Of course, if you go for ChemE because you don't have to take English 160 or Linear Algebra, you've got a whole 'nother kind of hurt coming your way.

No... NOT Biochem Engineering.... but instead a Biology, Chemistry, or BioChemistry degree instead?

Im looking into getting out of engineering and into Pharmacy school (next fall).... and dont want to take anything that wont be needed in a science degree or Pharm degree.

Money is an issue so no need spending it needlessly... hence the question abt dropping Tech Comm
