Alright, I've got a lifeview flyTV platinum 33 TV tuner thats giving me problems. I haven't used it for two years (didn't have cable near the computer), and now when I try to use it, it causes my computer to crash. As in it just black screens, reboots, and then Windows tells me that the computer has just recovered from a serious error.
Anybody have any suggestions for what to do or try? (other than get a new TV tuner)

So it only restarts when you try to use it (the app)? I'd say just try the basics for most problems: make sure you've got all the windows update fixes and then see it the maker's website (or driverguide) might have an updated firmware or driver.

If you've done this stuff then okay, good, but if not that's probably you're best bet.

Did you change computers/OS or any major components or overclock?

peace

I have the most recent drivers for it, and when I first started having problems with it my computer had the most current Windows updates. I have, since first posting this, wiped and re-installed Windows. The result of replacing the OS is that the computer simply refused to recognize that the card was even in a PCI slot.

So, in short, I'm pretty sure the card itself is fucked and I'm going to need a new one.
