So me and my room mate got fidelity this year. The 5meg down package. It worked fine for the first 6 days. Then one day it completely died. I called them and they fixed it the next day but the tech on the phone was a real jerk. Next day worked GREAT all day, was getting a nice burst speed. Then that night it died again. Called them again and they said they where having issue's. Next day was pretty bad still, that night it died again. But it was resolved the following day.
But everyday since then the internet has been all over the place, randomly working for 10 mins during the day at full speed. But usually sitting around 1 meg down. In the evening though its always 1meg down or less, extremely erratic ping that's all over the place and this is all if the internet even works. I keep calling them and they say they will send a tech out and he will call me when he is here and I have yet to get a call. Its been like this for 2 and a half weeks. Anyone else having horrible issue's?

Over off of Pershing Place behind Forum Drive. I have heard a lot of people having better luck this year. I thought it was good at first but what gets me now is that they are just ignoring the issue. I got homework to do and I can't access BB or the class webpage most of the time.

yeah ours is a ton better this year too, we have the 3 meg package. we usually pull around 2.8 or 2.9. VERY consistent this year compared to last, especially first semester last year.

Seems like somebody posts a thread like this once a month. And I'm tired of posting the same reply. Basically - switch to embarq. We never have trouble (except when I was retarded and forgot to pay the bill). Go back and such my posts if you want to see all the reasons why Rolla DSL >> Rolla Cable.

Our fidnet seems to be doing fine. You probably have one of the legendary (at least to me) bad modems. Tell them that it's acting up and to come replace it.

My Fidnet went into hibernation mode this semester. Next week I'm going to see if Embarq has something better to offer. If nothing else at least Embarq will be more economical than Fidnet's 1.5 Mbps @ $45.

I have a friend with Embarq DSL, and his internet drops out at least once an hour, and the modem needs to be reset. Where is the quality hardware to keep these networks working without all the headaches?

Ebay But from what I've read and found, they have a bunch of shitty modems that they use>people complain>get replaced>then get installed into someone else's place. So if you have issues, then call them and make them give you a new modem. I personally haven't had any issues with ours since installation (none then either actually).
And yes, I can VPN with fidelity.

We had our modem replaced 3 times now. They finally ran some test's and found out there was a bandwidth issue on node 6. They have no time frame for when the issue will be resolved. But eventually it should get better, so far it just doesn't work during peak load times.
