Under IE, if you go to the forums, browse around, and leave, the topics posted before you entered would change from new to old. Under Firefox, it only makes the topics specifically viewed being set as old. Anyone know how to fix this?

Was it really always like that? I thought it only changed after you viewed the specific thread.

Nah, if you looked under, say "UMR", and left the forum and came back, it'd only show topics posted after the last visit as being new.

Most likely it's an issue with cookies. Both with IE and Firefox I have it set to only get cookies from originating site and session cookies.

Viewed topics being the only threads changed is also how Opera works, both in Linux and in Windows.

I thought it fairly was common knowledge that IE == b0rked. Standards compliance is a good thing.

I'd rather have the "b0rked" way. It's often annoying to have some shitty topic like "Does anyone hate ___presidential candidate___" topics showing as new even though no one has posted on it for a month. I'd rather not have to view it to make it go away.

There's a fun litte button in the top right "Mark all topics as read". And pesto, problem solved.
