http://www.vector-audio.com/web/mdl/LS352MC/detail.asp

I put these suckers in my car thinkin that they were cheep peices of crap. Boy was i wrong! These things pump out serious notes with great sound quallity. And the bass is still there. They are great speakers and for the price you can't go wrong. $11

o and that project amp is a good way to go as well.

how am i gonna be able to supply any wattage to those? i guess i don't really understand all the basics of speakers.

right now i'm thinking i'd like to go with that little amp and two of those $1 speakers. if i can power that all with my PSU that would be great.

You can do it...

Keep in mind that those $1 speakers are 4x6's, (edit: I looked at the first page, last...the ones you're talking about now are the 4"s.)

The 3 1/2's would do all right--you wouldn't WANT to give them 100 W, that's their peak rating and they'd probably handle 50 W RMS at their loudest. Judging from their 88 Db SPL rating, you wouldn't want to run them at their loudest unless you just wanted to build a stereo boombox with, oh, maybe 60 GB of memory and direct streaming capabilities. (Oh that'd be sweet.)

15 W/channel would be enough to run those 3 1/2's at a decent volume if you wanted to (I say 15 W because that's what the project amp puts out, though I bet that's peak, too..)

I say if you've got the money and you're sure you've got the room in the case, the 4x6's would work (or the 4's.)...though you might want to go to (dare I say it) Wal-Mart and look in their car audio aisle for something small and cheap. You might be able to get something a little higher quality if you can eliminate the shipping expense.

If you are ordering the amp from PE anyways why not get those cheap speakers, you could buy 8 and run each channel series-parallel with 4 drivers and they'd probably sound pretty awesome. The T&S parameters don't look bad on those things, Qts of 0.76 would allow them to work good in a big box like a PC case. I'm wanting to order a bunch of these for myself plus some better parts for my other speaker project, we could work out some sort of deal and only pay shipping once.
