Is there anyway to access my AFS account (I think that's the right acronym) while not on one of the school's computers?
For instance if I saved some file in a computer lab and wanted to open it on the computer in my room.
search seek for samba fix. Instal the 200 something byte registry info, restart. Rightclick on my computer, map network drive, make the drive letter either S or Z so its easy to remember. \\samba.umr.edu\login
then click log in under different user name, type in your user name and password, hit ok. If that doesn't work, get rid of the login and connect only to samba.umr.edu, but I'm pretty sure you need that. If neither of those works, be sure you have installed the samba fix and RESTARTED. Otherwise you won't be able to get it done.

I think they disabled samba access to AFS accounts. Use SSH or SFTP instead.
