This is the best deal on a HardDrive that I've ever seen.

http://shop4.outpost.com/product/400825 ... IN_RSLT_PG

Retail, Seagate, 200GB, 7200RPM, ATA100, eIDE, $59.99

What's not to love?

Thanks a bunch, just did that. I'm suprised I didn't already know about that from the deals sites I browse daily.

Yay for more storage and yay for a 5 year warranty!

You know whats not to love? Backorders. I am going to be pissed if it shows up after the rebate has to be post marked. Did you download the rebate? If so, when does it have to be post marked by? I might have to cancel my order if I am not going to get the rebate or if there is even a chance of it.

That's why you would use it as a bulk storage drive and not a boot drive.

Depending on the use, it really isn't much slower than SATA. My ATA-100 RAID-0 array is slower than an equivilent SATA version on small writes and reads, but when I start rendering 2-D and 3-D text effects into a 17:30, 3.4GB, video file encoded in HuffYUV-RGB mode, it's proformance is very simmilar to the SATA array, and cheaper.

If nothing else, you could get an SATA adapter for the disk. In any case, they're out of stock and I think the offer has expired at this point. *shrugs*
