Me and my roomate are having problems sharing our folders. The folders we want to share are declared shared but no one can seem to access them. I can access my roomates and he can access mine but people outside basically our floor can not. Any suggestions?

(technically this is the wrong forum, but i'm not an anal bitch who is goign to chew you out for it)

i'm having the same problem as of recently... after reinstalling windows (and all my other software shites) my computer eitehr shows up at "inaccessable" or requires a password. however, i think MY problem has to do with my firewall. if you have a firewall installed that's most likely the cause of it. i have zone alarm pro, which i had installed previously but don't remember how to set it up........... if only i knew

I used to have zone alarm pro installed but now its uninstalled. The only firewall I have now is the standard Windows Firewall.

Well, my problem is that people can't even see my folder. Can people see yours?

You think it could be the local router?

I had a problem when the SP2 windows firewall was installed. I disabled it and now people can see my stuff.

I don't have widnows firewall enabled I still have the same problem.
I even have a couple of firewalls, which I tried to disable but it made no difference. Any suggestions?
