yea ive got an ide controller, its been working great for me for a few years now -2000- well its been acting up lately, the slave drives are getting delayed write failures, if i change the drives designation ex master instead it works, but if its slave it doesnt work, and ive tried many variations of all 4 of my storage drives, its only on ide channel 1 i believe, but im not sure might be 2.

Any ideas bout y it might be acting up, and should i just put another $15 down on one and get a new one...

Have you tried updating the drivers? I had a similar problem with a controller before til I updated the drivers.

yea i get the new ones from maxtor every timne i reinstall, and i thoguth it was an os problem for a while, so its not the driver, just slave channel 1

have you tried another pci slot?
