i was just woundering how much death is to much

in the last 2 months, i have had 3 friends die, 2 due to suicide bc of their breakup, and the third was related with the seconds suicide

over the summer 2 relatives died, naturally

end of last senior year in highschool, im a freshie now, 4 friends died in a freak car accident with a semi that lost its load of logs on the road infront of them

over the 4 years in high school 9 friends commited suicide and 3 died of freak or natural causes

before that there was a death of a friend or family at least once a year that i knew of starting at age 3 for me.

thats over 30 deaths in my life time, assuming there was only 1 death a year in teh beginning, make it more like 35+ and thats about right

is it normal to have this many deaths around you in the first 19 years of life?? I have other friends in hospitals bc of attempted suicide, and still tohers still not in the hospital or recently released bc of attempted suicid. Is death just attracted to me or do i just attract unstable people, or make people unstable?? Life is getting to be really crappy, i mean wtf is up with it?

I would say that your situation is not typical. I have had 15 people die in my lifetime, that I was close enought to to be upset about it. One suicide in that number. I am going to give you some advice though. I would seek some counseling about dealing with the recent deaths, being around people that have committted suicide is very hard to deal with, and you yourself are more suceptible to feelings involving your own suicide. I'm not saying you will, however you are in an at risk group. There are profesionals here on campus over in Norwood, I would consider it. The reason I know about all of this is B/c my mom is a psychologist and she is always feeding me all these facts about stuff.

Sounds as if it's just by chance to me. I'm sorry to hear about all those losses though, that's some tough stuff to deal with.

And I agree with egg, he's got a good point. There is always someone to help, don't be afraid to ask.

Guru, it is just bad luck for you. You can't control accidents, or who dies from natural causes when. The only thing you CAN control is your own choice to commit suicide or not. If you are feeling depressed and sad, and even give suicide a thought, you should go talk to the people over in Norwood. Also, you need to realize that nothing is worth taking your own life. If you need to vent more or just talk I'm sure no one here on seek would care if you kept posting, as long as you feel like sharing your feelings with us.

yea the thought of seeking help has crossed my mind, but i dont feel the tragedy any more if thats possible, my mind has numbed it all out, i mean sure i still feel for my friends and their recent deaths and such, but its like when a friend gets sick, you do what you can to help but just let it take its nauural path. i dunno im just weird in that way, or maby im just letting it all build up inside untill i cant take it any more and just end it all with one fatal swoop.

but yea i thought it was an unnatural amount of death.

i think its kinda uncommon in that not everyone goes through this, i think its just certain people. i am also some one who has this curse, and understand your feelings. after a while you are like well damn... and then go on your way. i don't really think there is anything you can do to change it, but if it does bother you, then you need to seek counselling.

we as the old saying goes, deaths usually come in threes, but man, you kinda bump that average up. sorry to hear that, no one should have to endure that much, especially in such a small window of time.

Death has never really bothered me. I have lost several close relatives, and I never cried at their funerals. I just consider it as a part of life, that and being a christian, I know where they are now. I will see them again, someday.

i wouldnt know if i would be able to handle that many deaths, especially if they were close friends. so far i've only had 3 realatives pass away (great grandfather, grandmother, and uncle) in my lifetime. although, i do freak out a bit cause so far it's just my fahter and i. we dont really have many close relatives. basically all the ones that passed away were the closest. if i was under 18 i would have to go live in west virginia with some friends my grandmother knew. i couldnt really live with my mother since she got remarried and lives all the way in l.a.. that would just be wierd. kinda wants me to go religious or somethin

yea im not worried bout my mental instabilities, those limits have been tested, im more just kinda like what bj said, well dam that sucks i talked to them just a few days ago

im one of those mellow guys who walks around in a half daze most of the time, drowning everthing out with music and games, so i just continue with life, looking forward to the end when its at last my turn to take that one last breath and then be with those ive lost, but first i have much to accomplish, and to many people to not dissapoint, so i have plenty of reasons to stay amongst the "living"

i wasnt expecting quite such a responce but ive gotten it, and im sure some ac is going to say this was all just something i put together to get attention, and well its a possibility, but if i wanted attention i woulda posted about me commiting suicide and whats wrong with my life, instead im just asking a question about whats happened in my past

i dunno lol im tired

I think that it is great that you want to talk about it, and really this is the best place to get the most honest answers. I do think that everyone deals with loss in different ways, and I think that most people on this forum are decient people. This is a nice change to the constant arguing that goes on, over this forum.
