Buttons.....
Does anyone know how to sew on a button so that it does not fall off EVERY SINGLE TIME it goes through the washing machine?

The secret is super glue.

After sewing the button on correctly (cross over in a diamond pattern, the back of the button should be a square/diamond pattern.) Put a dab of super glue on the front part of the button. The super glue won't wash off, and will hold the stiches.

I'll sew it on for $1.00 if you want someone else to exhibit effort.

Whats the difference between a diamond pattern and a square/diamond pattern?

Yes yes, my previous attempts looked like the other buttons. It was the tying the knot in the back that I think is causing the problem.

Which is the front part? Isnt the knot tied on the back?

The front part is the the front of the shirt. The purpose of the super glue is to make the thread stick to the button. You can put super glue on the back if you want. It'll make the thread stick together and all, but that is the part of the shirt that rubs against your skin. The glue could cause an irratation. It could also wear down.

Which button IS this?

This would be second button from the top. So youre telling me the reason its falling off after one use is the fact that the thread wears away on the front of the button? After just one use?

Nope. Didn't say that. I'd say your using crappy thread (not using enough thread) or doing a crappy job sewing it on. (Tying the knot as you said.)

Is this a dress shirt? Or a polo?

Its not a dress shirt. I have no idea what a polo shirt is.
This shirt has two buttons, and the bottom one wont stay on, and it looks retarded to button the top one with or without the bottom one, and it looks like im showin off my chest hair if I dont button the bottom one.

It sounds like a polo. A polo is a shirt that has a color and buttons. Ask your RA to show you their Res Life Polo. Or any Hall Gov't person has a Polo.

It's harder to sew buttons back onto polo's.

Yes, its a polo. Any polo tips?

You could always wax your chest. Then no hair.

Buy a new shirt.

I cant. Its kind of my uniform.

What? What was wrong with that statement? Hair belongs on a man's head, arms, and legs.

You left off chest in that list. That is a womanly thing to do, to wax off body hair. That is not even an option. Never.
