GDI (the Independents organization) is looking for houses for people to host gatherings. If you are interested in hosting a gathering or would like more information, there is a meeting at the Grotto (12th & Pine) on Fridays at noon. If you can't make it to a meeting, but are still interested, let me know.

GDI used to be HUGE on this campus, and has died off in the last few years. It's a great way for you to get out and meet new people without joining a Greek organization. There's no pledging or anything like that, you just show up when you want to show up and have fun. For more information go to http://www.umr.edu/~gdi

Thanks!
mb

i had a question about GDI... okay i am greek, and i totally respect what you guys do.... but i was at walmart the other night and i saw a chick wearing a shirt with the greek letters "gamma delta iota" on them... at first i was like 'huh must be from some other school' but then i realized that it was "GDI" in greek letters.... isn't that the opposite of what you w*ould want? you would think that you guys would want to separate yourselves from the greeks enough not to be confused as another greek house... writting GDI in greeks would just have people confuse you as just another greek house on campus...

just my input

hmmm....we haven't had an actual shirt made in probably 4 years, other than the St. Pat's sweatshirt designs...Don't know where the gamma delta iota shirts came from.

We aren't an anti-greek organization, however, just a social organization. Anyone is welcome to attend our events. Hopefully we will be having some future events over PRO weekends, which you could attend and see for yourself how we work. Unfortunately, we need locations before we can do this :( I would really like to see the organization grow to hundreds of members much like it was when I first found GDI.
