Yes. A lot of people take Calc/Diffy Screw at Columbia College while attending the rest of their classes here. Make sure you keep 12 hours on campus though (I think) if you're on scholarship. Loans and work study require at least half-time on campus.

I was planning on taking physics at a community college over the summer, just make sure the credits will transfer.

To make sure the off-campus courses will count for your degree (instead of the dreaded GNCR-general credit), go to this site:

https://webapps.umsystem.edu/cgi-bin/mo ... ml&A=5&C=R

Click "Transfer Student" if you know where you'll be going, then sort by your hometown college....blah blah blah.

If your course/school isn't listed there, tell the registrar's office ASAP because the course will have to be evaluated by the on-campus department to see if it fulfills the requirements.

It's also fun to look at course numbers at different schools...like here, Calcs 1, 2, and 3 are "0" level courses--like they're remedial or something.

Calc 2 at the community colleg back home was Math 228. Wow! Everywhere else it's a 1xx or 2xx class.

Just pride yourself in the fact that you will have a worthwhile job, while those liberal arts majors will be parking our cars and doing my landscaping for 5$ an hour.

As many as you would want to, I guess. Just remember that 6 hours over the summer is equal to 12 hours during the semester. I took 5 hours last summer (Calc II), and it wasn't bad. I'm taking 4 hours this summer (BE 110 and NE 306), but there's no way in hell I'd add another 3 hour class to my summer course load.

Those classes are cake, especially statics as long as you keep up on the homework.

How is Statics cake? Oh, you must have had a decent teacher. Robertson is fucking awful for Statics. We just finished the Shear & Moment Diagrams chapter, and Robertson gave us our cheat sheet to use on the final for it. When one of the students asked about the integral equations to find the slopes and shit for the diagrams, all Dr. Robertson said was, "I refuse to teach that method. I don't like it. Therefore I will not answer any questions on it."

That old British fuck is the goddamned worst professor ever at this school.

I have Wolfe, she does a pretty good job teaching, but I think this stuff is pretty easy to understand just looking at an example in the book. We never learned the intergral method, apperently she doesn't like intergrals, so we don't do them, heh. Got a perfect score on the first test and i didn't even use the cheat sheet she let us make.
