Yeah I've done most of them on campus. I just did my 15th box yesterday. All without any screw-ups.
If you want to talk to me let me know and we can talk on the phone or I can let you see what I can do before-hand.
I charge $25 to install a Mod, the programs, and I'll teach you how everything works. It's another $5 to install a new Harddrive. It's a fair price compared for the amount of time it takes to install and debug the problems that pop up and how it takes around 30 hours to format a harddrive so a X-box can use it.
Yours: Mod Chip.....$35-45.....(I can show you where to order them)
Crossover....$5...........(I recommend UrLocalGuru off of Seek)
Harddrive.....???..........(A HD or DVD-Burner is best to backup games)
Total: ......$60-70.....................for just a Modchip install with all programs
................$65-75 + HD cost......for HD and Mod
I normally install these programs:
Dashboard
- New Skins
Windows Media Player w/ full codec support (Divx, Xvid...)
xbox explorer program to maintain files
FTP Software to connect to a computer
PDX Program (Rent a game, run program and it transfers the entire game to your HD)
Program to switch between a European and American Xbox for games.
Emulators (NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, GB Advance, N64, Playstation 1 and I can give you the files to install 14 other older systems like Commodore, Atari, ect.)
There are a lot more, but those are the main ones you'll use.
If you anyone has any questions, PM me and I'll get back with you.
30 hours.....I think it took me a few hours to get everything up and running... It should be even faster since you already have all the program you need so all you have to do is transfer them onto the box.
How does the program that switches between PAL and NTSC work and were can I get it. I guess i also need the ini file to put the program in the menu. I think that the program is called video select.

Worseley, does the normal Xbox hard drive work alright with the mod? I was thinking about just ripping the isos to my comp, and transferring between xbox and pc whenever I wanted to change games.

Yeah, it works fine. The xbox HD is only 10-8 gigs, so games like Halo or Ninja Gaiden which are anywhere between 3.5 - 5 gigs would take up all of the free space.
You can also have friends burn games onto DVD's for you. I've helped a lot of people like that before. It cost around $1 for a good name-brand DVD, so I ussually ask for $3 since it takes a while to rip a 5 gig game.
If you asking me if it's worth it? Yeah, it is. My X-box doesn't even have a new Harddrive in it. I run Stock too, with DVD's for the games I like.
That is what I thought. I downloaded Tiger Woods 2004 (PAL) off of Worselys computer and it would not play, but when I switched to PAL format the game worked but the picture was black and white and messed up. Any one have a thought on what to do.
