I'm willing to bet that Source is painfully buggy, no?

Anyone who has a legal copy of Condition Zero or a HL2 voucher will also be able to download this and try it before too long.

So when are we going to see homemade movies hitting the net?

Have they changed the core gameplay at all? New weapons or anything? Added a third faction, perhaps militant environmentalists? Or is it just plain-old CS with better graphics and physics?

I believe it's just C, but i know there are some new skins and actions that come with that. Anyway you lucky bastards that are in Rolla go play and tell us how it is.

What is Pixl8ed? LAN center or something? I've never heard of it.

Pixl8ed is a lan center, it's off of 11th street, it's extreeeemely close to campus. It's kind of a nice place to go, last time I went though, they still had vsync and mouse acceleration enabled, but it's still fun to own all the townies on lan, and watch them wait for their moms to come pick them up. I've got a membership there but havent been back in a while, if they ever open up a byoc area though, i'll be spending some quality time @ pixl8ed.

Weird I never heard it even mentioned before. Thanks for the info. What kind of net do they have (in case they ever have byoc)? I kinda like vsync as long as the card still pumps out enough frames.. not many people play with mouse accel though, that's pretty ugly. How much does it cost? I can't find a website or anything.

Edit: WHAT THE FRICK? Rolla has a lan center and the nearest one to my house (in Clayton.. in St. Louis) is like a 35 minute drive. What the hell is wrong with St. Louis. I want to start a lan center here.

So do it, the guys who started pixl8d (or however you spell it) are no older than you or I, younger I believe.

there's a lan center in st. louis, they used to be in arnold, but they moved to more "down town" st. louis. They're called i-frag http://www.i-frag.com (or is it .net?). Either way, pixl8ed costs $5 an hour for non-members, but $4 an hour for members, but with the membership, you get a t-shirt and you're allowed to bring in your own mouse/keyboard. Also for a little while they had it setup to where the top guy on the stats every week got 4 free hours. Oh yeah, and your first hour at pixl8ed is free. There's another lan center here in rolla, it's called uneek (I guess they wanted to make it sound like "unique"), but from what i've heard it's pretty cheezey.

EDIT: almost forgot, their outbound connection (pixl8ed) is a T1 (I believe that's what they said, it was at the beginning of the summer when I asked).

Hm, that i-frag manages to be in St. Louis but still 30min away from me.

I was thinking a good location to start one would be in the loop.

Yeah, that sounds like a pretty good place. I went down there once when the x-games had a little event, it wasnt any competition but there was a skate park setup in the road and everything. That area seems pretty popular, and it looks like the right age group is nearby, although I would suspect that it would be relatively expensive to rent a place out down at the loop.

I have CS:S downloaded and ready to play as soon as they unlock it (I have CZ)

btw counter-strike source is NOT CS2, it's just a remake of CS on source, half-life 2's engine
