as a board op @ kumr, i too have that problem. general solutions: seek, put an emulator and some roms on a jump drive, that can be hours of fun, onion is always good reading, warning forever is a good time, as is just reading all kinds of crap on the internet.

You can play wow without install, my roommate did it last year he said it was kinda laggy but still playable

I hate to burst your friend's computing bubble, but not having a game installed is not going to affect performance.
