I was thinking how ridiculous it is to take one of those apart before it even comes out, but then I remembered the idiots who kept dropping an iPod nano off shit and running it over to find out how long it would take to break it.

Allot of rumors going around confirming that the 360 shortage is a marketing hoax. Several people are confirming (bestbuy, walmart, ebgames) that they have up to 4 times the reported numbers for launch consoles.

Wal-marts reporting 200+ units, managers saying they only have 14 consoles for launch when there's a pallet of 40+ behind them (opened, showing 360's).

I got mine from http://www.gamestop.com, they recently started taking more pre-orders with a note that it may take a while to get, but the fact that they're selling consoles says that they have allot more then they were putting on earlier.

You can also get your controllers/cables from them with shipping in the first 24 hours.

There's always some sort of marketing scam to try to create a false shortage to generate demand for a product. It happens... Personally, I think Microsoft is just in over their head trying to do a worldwide launch.

I was thinking about having a 360 get together this tuesday, but figured most people will be heading home. I'll probably be back in town Rolla Saturday morning so I can play/host something then.

On a side note: I got the VGA adapter a while ago and was really impressed by it's quality. It comes with a male/male adapter (extension cable) and a RCA to mini-sterio jack to plug it into your PC speakers. It'll work great for my widescreen 21" dell monitor and my portable boomtubes on taking my 360 to LAN parties or home.

Yeah, heading home... I'll be back fairly early on Sunday, so maybe we could all meet somewhere for a nice lan party. I'm in the Res. College, and we have nice open common rooms if you're interested. What games are you all getting?

It doesn't really matter to me where we play. I've got 3 large tv's at my apartment (you could walk from R.C. but it's a little cold. 1/2 mile at most) 2 of them are HD widescreen.

I'm probably going to Wal-mart monday night to get one early, and pick up my real one after work tuesday morning. Depending on if there is actually a shortage, I may open both of them up since it won't matter much if people are wanting them bad enough if it's opened. So I may have two 360's myself on tuesday, but it'll probably be sold by Sunday.

I've also got 3 original Xbox's, so HDTV games of Halo/Halo2 is possible too.

Fair enough. That works out alright. We all get component cables anyway. Yeah, I'll probably head over that Sunday in the afternoon. It'll give me time to practice PGR3 anyway.

I've got a blockbuster gamepass for the 360 launch, so I can also try to get a copy of PDZ or Call of Duty 2.
