Well, I'm at home now. 24 hours of Madden and PGR3 (with a little bit of Hexic HD and some Live Arcade demos thrown in), and I'm enjoying the shit out of it. Can't believe how good these games look. God, I was antsy last night at Gamestop when I got there. The system is everything I wanted and more... *sigh* Well, back to my Madden franchise. Hey, lets turn this into an impressions thread, where you can bitch or rave about any game. I'll start it off.
Madden -- Most are complaining about the lack of features (no create-a-player, mini-camp, etc.), but I couldn't care less. The control is spot on, and the graphics are a sure bet to show off the system. Kind of pissed that you can't challenge a play, but everything else seems to be in place.
PGR3 -- However, if Madden looks good, then PGR3 looks like it fell straight from heaven. Blur effects are phenomenal and the sound is chill-inducing. Kind of like that there isn't much "building up" of your car collection, per se. About an hour into the career mode, I could already afford the most expensive car in the game. This game is about how fast the cars go and how good they look, and damn, do they look good. In addition to the regular career mode is online career mode, which is a pretty cool feature, because you play it exactly the same, but all your opponents are real people.
Well, enough raving. I probably sound like the fucking nerd I actually am, but I'm infatuated with the system. Happy gaming, all.
I'm really dissapointed in Madden. Mini-camp I can live without, but not being able to view stats during a game?! That's something that even Madden for SNES had.
