What type of format are you planning/wanting to do with the CS:S tourney?
Also, What about some other RTS type games, as well as turnbased. I saw some people mention Civliizations 4 ( great game ). I would like to see Civ4, Empire Earth II, Age of Empires III, something besides starcraft and warcraft iii.

Well, I figure we'll throw up a CS:S server a little in advance, so we can get a feel for what even teams will be like.
At 9:00, I was thinking something along the lines of 4 maps with 30 minutes to a map. The best 10 players (highest Kill/Death) could then go into a finals round later... while everyone else jumps into the Starcraft tournament.

Another one for ya, sorry I didn't get all my thoughts organized for one post, but what are you planning on doing for prizes? In the past WANG was sponsered by the SUB and as such had extra money for prizes for the tournaments. Will that happen this year, and how many tournaments do you think you can have prizes for? Thanks,
Highest ratio is not a good idea, for a lot of reasons. I don't suppose there will be any CS 1.6? Age of Empires 3 is not a good game, although the other two you listed are. People always play starcraft and warcraft because... well.. they're good games. Classics even.

I was just throwing out rts games, wasn't stating AOE3 was some spectacular game :) . C&C sure isn't, unless you like watching your tanks all get stuck b/c the AI for moving them blows. Anyhoo, what about prizes? I also agree, if we have enough a team format for CSS would be better. Highest K/D ratio = awp wars.
I've been confused over the last few years about charging money for the weekend and you have to bring your own systems and have everything for them... So five bucks for the power supply?

No longer sponsored by SUB. Details on prizes coming: there will probably be an iPod and digicam.

What would be better? CS:S is a team vs. team game: K/D struck me as the fastest way to sort individuals by ability given relatively balanced teams.

Meh; $5 / person only recovers a fraction of what ACM is investing in this event... it's a LAN party, not just a chance to play network computer games.
