So me and a friend have put a mod chip in my xbox and i wanted to upgrade the harddrive in it. I got a 300 gb and when we put it in the xbox with a boot disk, and formated it and what not, it partioned the drives, but i only have like 130ish gigs instead of 300. Any one every heard of something like this that could help? Thanks

how can i upgrade it? first this is exactly what was done to the box:

it's a 1.6 box all done up with a duox2

i flashed it fine with evox m8 bios, it works fine

but i upgraded hd to 300gb, using slayers (couldn't find my AID) it formatted the drive and only gave it 124ish gb on the F: drive and no G: partition. Also, i tried to pull the hard drive out and put it in my computer to formate it, but when i put it back in the xbox, everything was still on it.

What should i do?

Talk to LostBoyz, he only uses the Duo chip but I can tell you that this is a software problem.

Your not getting past the 130gb filesize structure limit. This was fixed 3 years ago in the xbox community.

hee hee, that's kinda funny, cause that's the friends who's helping me do all this to my xbox. We're both pretty stuck but i'll run this all past him anyways. Thanks. If anyone has anything else to add i'm more than happy to listen.

worst case scenario you format it on another xbox and then bring it back to yours.

Even then you could always format it on a computer and do all the work there. It's how softmods get larger HD's going.

If your working with Scott already then I guess I'll just talk to him about it directly.

well, it's not softmoded, it's hardmoded. Does that change much?

If it's the firmware, then it wouldn't matter what is done on another box. It'll still drop if to 130 if it's the wrong firmware.

Hope that helps

yep you were right, i got the evoxM8 instead of the m8+ by accident. but slayers ended up having an m8 that supported f: and g: drives so all is well
