IMPORTANT!

If you are coming to the event bring your resume. We will be sending all resumes to Lockheed Martin as part of our sponsorship agreement. So if you are at all interested (and even if you aren't) bring your resume to the LAN!

Registration usually spikes in the last few days, and people come without registering also...

Yeah, last fall we had 50 people register, and about 35 show (we didn't require payment to register so we got a lot of no shows). In the spring, we had about 35 people register and about 45 show up. It's a pretty good time :)

random draft please

Which do you think is better: random draft or league mode?

My thought was league mode because I've seen used in tournaments and leagues. I'd use -lm if it supported 3v3, but since it doesn't, I'm simulating it by having teams choose heroes before each match at the admin's table.

Yea the way you have it as a simulated League mode is the most fair.
Flip a coin for first pick then have it as:

team a
team b
team b
team a
team b
team a

Would there be a problem is having the pick order as:

team a
team b
team a
team b
team a
team b

That was my initial thought.

Well sure its ok, but giving team b two choices after team a gets the first pick balances it. Also if you could do -lm it does the exact same order in 5v5.

Important update: The room has been changed. We are now holding the event in EMAN 103, which is the same room we held the last semester's event:

It actually worked pretty well. Although the cables running up the middle were a little annoying.
