no real point really to this thread

but i just got done installing a mars II into a v4 ps2 for a friend and goddamn. the hardest point to solder on the xbox is easier then almost all 30-ish for ps2.

anyone else done one?

or i guess if anyone wants me to do i can but for once im charging labor

Nice job. I would have FUBARed that one real bad. One time I broke my PS2 and I got Sony to fix it for free because there was only 1 game that wouln't play, Gran Turismo 2.

I did one once. Mine wasn't near as hard as what you did, but the main problem was that the chip's contacts were so tiny that I had to avoid touching two at a time. That was a bitch.

yea i have a fairly decent weller soldering station, just single temp, cost me like $30 but i only have the regular tip, the real tiny one wouldve been awesome. using one of those radio shack POSs wouldve been a nightmare on this

you have balls, nice work. ive owned two of them and they both just pissed me off enough that i destroyed them and threw them away. and i saw the weller on ebay for $30 ish so i decided the upgrade would be nice

EDIT:i just got the word that it does indeed still work

The verdict is in and LostBoyz is a God! The PS2 works! I still havent figured out if it plays burnt games, cuz I only have 1 and Im not positive it was a good burn, but Im gonna mess with it over break and Ill post something more after that.

and if nothing else it at least still plays my original games, and DVDs.

Hmm, there are just a few wires involved there. I imagine it would be terribly easy to screw it up.

the worst part was on the bottom side was 9 points(tiny pads) within the circumference smaller then a dime
