I'm an Electrical Engineer who needs an Upper level Humanities/Social Science course. Looking for a good class to take or the ones not to take. Any advice would be helpful.

Fantasy literature was mildly interesting if you like that sort of thing.

I liked Eng 305 (history of English) with Salmons. You have to write a 10 page paper on an influence on English before the middle ages and do a presentation on any influence on English from the middle ages or after (yes, this includes text message speak), but the tests are easy as pie as long as you take decent notes, which he writes on the board anyway.

Yeah, easy class. I procrastinated on a presentation about an influence on the English language so I went in there dressed as a wangsta, gave a five minute presentation, and ended up getting an A. It's a really easy class.

Whatever you do, don't take the history of technical communication. Worst. Class. Ever.

Philosophy 345, Philosophy of Science is probably one of the best classes I've taken. I'd reccommend it. Pretty easy A if you pay attention, too (and even if you don't, if you're good as BSing on essays).

I second that. They're really hard to get into though so if you do make sure you sign up early. His classes are way easy and really interesting so a lot of engineers take them.

I third this, I have his Vietnam class this semester, and it has been very fascinating. But I had somewhere around the 3rd day of signups for classes and his WWII class was already full with a waitlist. As was said, good luck getting into his class.
