You know how on a webserver, if there is no index file (html, htm, php, etc) in a directory, it will usually allow you to view a directory listing of the server's contents.
Is there a way to ignore the index.html file and just view the directory listing?
If I remember, and it's been a long time since I've messed with that, but it is set up by the people that control the server and it isn't something you can change. Perhaps someone that has a better memory than me on setting up servers will elaborate.

I think there's a way to force a directory listing on a website but I can't remember for sure. Agentzak is right in the fact that it is set up by the server's owner, but if I'm not mistaken, you can bypass with some nifty tricks.
I'd google something like "forcing a website directory listing" to see.
