Thought I'd start a new topic b/c I didn't want to shit up the other thread when we still had a good conversation going. But I'm curious to get a feel for what the campus community rides, and at the same time give people a chance to brag about their rides.

For the poll up there, pick what kind of motorcycle you have. If you have one bike, pick one kind. Two bikes, pick two kinds.

Humbly starting off with my:
1979 Kawasaki KZ750 Twin
Image
*not an actual photo...those to come*

Neat little bike. These were Kawasaki's supersport offering in 1979...My, how times have changed. Two cylinders of torquey brawn, it tops out about 52 HP from the factory. Low-revving engine, peak power is about 7000 RPM--but it does have an annoying flat spot about 4500 RPM, which is also its cruising speed. I'm actively working to get that tuned out. 5-speed. Right now I'm working on a complete and total rewire; the previous owner chewed the wiring harness to shreds, and I was getting shorts to the frame every time it would rain, and half the time when it wasn't. Got a brand new ignition system (points? :) ) and coil, new rear signals, replaced the side reflectors with new hi-viz clearance lights, new signal switches, new handlebars, and all new copper. Also, a 2-into-1 exhaust, a luggage rack, and I'm going to put a modest windshield and sissy bar on it. But first I've got to get it back on the road!

Show us your rides!

My bike is a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 600S. It's one that different people classify differently, some call it a standard, some a sport-standard, and the one I prefer: a sport-tourer. I picked naked/half fairing in your poll. Here's a pic of me on my bike riding deals gap this past fall:

And here it is on my way out there at some awesome switchbacks in Tennessee. It's got all 3 hard bags on and has my camping stuff strapped to the back seat:

Basically, the only work of note I've done to the bike is bolting the luggage racks on. Overall, I love my bike, it's plenty fast to have tons of fun on and get in tons of trouble on (ya....) but not too fast that it's hard to control or jumpy like a lot of full on sport bikes can be. Plus, it's got a more upright seating position, though still in a forward lean, which is nice because what I really love doing is taking trips where I may cover 500+ miles in a day of 10 hours or more of riding.

Is that the Dragon? I was on it this summer and will return someday. It's probably the best curvy road in America.

I bought a '07 250 Ninja over the summer... put about 1600 miles on it since July. I ticked supersport... but it's not really a supersport, it's more just sport... being a 250 and all. It's a lot of fun though :)

The first picture (in motion) is on the dragon, but the switchback is just a curvy road in Tennessee on my way to the Dragon.
