Since everyone needs to travel, and doesn't always have a way to, I want to offer to all of you seek42'ers an opportunity for a ride home... almost anywhere as long as the round trip can be made in 6 hours or less (further on weekends) for a max range of 225 miles from Rolla AND as long as I am off the road by around Midnight. It gets really hard to stay awake and drive past that point. How much does such a handy service cost you might ask? Well I am offering you a front seat, and up to about 50 cubic feet of storage capacity. All this for up to $.50 per mile, and you only pay for the time you are in the car!

If you live 100 miles away? Thats just $50.00
186 miles? $93.00

Post requests here or email me at jewzf7 at umr.edu

I am limited to one car and myself as a driver so this is first come first serve.

If you need a ride back from your destination, send me an email, and I'll try to make arrangements. A bit more notice in necessary in those instances.

Monday through Thursday I can leave after 5:00 PM, Friday I can leave after 5:00 PM if I am still in town. Saturday and Sunday I am available anytime as long as I am in town. For weekends, if I don't have prior notice, I cannot guarantee that I will be in the area. The sooner you let me know that you need a ride, the better.

So if you need to be somewhere, and can't find a ride, gimme a call (417.793.2753) or shoot me an email/PM

Group Discounts:

If there are two riders, the shared mileage is 40% off each ($.30/mi).
Three riders? 55% off each until one or more leaves ($.23/mi).
With the max of four riders, 60% off each person until one or more leaves ($.20/mi).

Still confused?

Say I have 3 riders, one person is going to Sullivan, MO, another is going to Pacific, MO and the third in Arnold, MO. Since I get to Sullivan first, the mileage from Rolla to Sullivan is 55% off of the $.50/mile per person, or $.23/mile. From there to Pacific is $.30/mile per person. The last one off pays the remaining mileage at the full $.50.

Person 1: 40mi@$.23 = $9.20

Person 2: 40mi@$.23 + 35mi@$.30 = $19.70

Person 3: 40mi@$.23 + 35mi@$.30 + 26mi@$.50 = $32.70

Had the person going to Arnold ridden alone, the cost would have been $50.00.

***NEW!***
I have flat rates to some major cities in the area:

Anywhere in Springfield - $55.00
Anywhere in St. Louis - $50.00
Anywhere in Columbia - $45.00
Anywhere in Jeff City - $35.00

These include to Airports, Train Stations, or other destinations within the city limits. All other areas not listed above go by the listed taxi rate.

Yeah, he probably is, but he's actually taking a bit of a loss compared to the federal compensation of 37 cents per mile for use of a personal vehicle. I tried to convince him to up it, but I think he simply wants an excuse to drive his yellow shoe all over creation.

Now that school has started, My Taxi hours are a little more confined. This will probably be a night travel time.

Monday through Thursday I can leave after 5:00 PM, Friday and Saturday I can leave after 9:00 PM. Sunday is still anytime.

So if you need to be somewhere, and can't find a ride, gimme a call (417.793.2753) or shoot me an email/PM.

EDIT: Just moving vital details to the top

The last one off pays the remaining mileage at the full $.30.

Person 2: 40mi@$.135 + 35mi@$.18 = $11.70

Had the person going to Arnold ridden alone, the cost would have been $30.00

Now im even more confused! ahh! oh, would you be willing to make trips to places in rolla, like say, to the flow lab once a week?

I think I can do that, but my vehicle doesn't do as well with mileage in town, and so there will probably be some sort of minimum like $X for the first 5 miles. I will need to figure that part out, because if I do that, it will have to be worth my while and still be fairly priced. That'll take some research.

However, since those are such short trips, the hours of availability would be limited to me being in Rolla, and not doing something else (i.e. school or a real job).

When I figure that out, I will post details in the top post.

Due to a fantastic event taking place on the weekend of February 23-25, i will not be delivering anyone that weekend.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but i have already been reserved and completely filled to take a bunch of people to the rally event in Salem, MO.

Not for mileage from your house to your office. That's a routine commute and is considered a personal expense, and isn't tax-deductible. If you drive your own vehicle from your office to your worksite, that mileage IS tax-deductible if your worksite is at a different location than where you report to work (for instance, a construction site.) Also, the mileage you incur performing any work-related errands in your vehicle is tax-deductible.
