I know it can be turned off...but just thought it was odd they'd put ads in there.

Not surprising, the University is in a deficit. At least they are pursuing other routes than gouging us even more.

It was very surprising, I would have liked to see an explanation about it, what the money is going to, the amount, etc. For all we know it could have just been some guy in IT or whoever runs it making some extra cash by inserting ads into campus services.

I never thought this institution of higher learning would start spamming us. It's easy to remove (click the X), but still, that's pretty low. I just hope they don't start advertising on http://www.umr.edu.
