Maybe it's just because I'm short and can hardly see over the steering wheel as it is, but does anyone else have a hell of a hard time pulling out of EE next to the crosswalk due to not being able to see around the cars parked on the road? Almost got t-boned the other day after looking that direction for a good minute and seeing nothing. Also, I've noticed that a lot of cars go through that crosswalk too fast and I've seen kids not rip their eyes of the ground to check for cars before walking. Methinks maybe we should get a stop sign there for at least these reasons, but I can also see kids taking advantage of the stop between classes to make a little river between you and your parking spot...

Actually, although it is never observed in this town, all crosswalks signs are supposed to act as stop signs when someone is in the crosswalk. I know it is a state law in Colorado and am willing to bet it's the same here. My friend actually got pulled over once for not yielding to someone waiting to cross the street, even though there was no stop or yield sign.

Pedestrians always have the right of way, its just no one seems to observe that.
Huh, does that mean that everyone should be stopping at that Res College crosswalk, too? The only times I've seen someone stop people have a hard time keeping from running into the backs of them.
And, cops never stop there.

Often official vehicles will stop for you. And yes, it is a law, but it has absolutely no enforcement in Rolla...

If pedestrians start pushing for enforcement of cross-walk laws, drivers will probably start pushing for enforcement of jay-walking laws. Personally, I like being able to risk my life on 63, in front of officers sometimes even. Though (more) cross-walks on 63 would be nice... highly unlikely though.

They always have the right of way when crossing legally. Don't give the tards that run across 4 lanes of busy traffic the idea that what they're doing is right.

5 if you include the turn lane. Though that is more of a safe island than a lane.

Being wrong never felt so right... then again, I prefer to walk rather than run. Just have to time it right. Doesn't hurt to say a prayer too.

lol, I don't think most drivers got that memo. I've seen more people almost hit in the turn lane than the other 4 lanes. But it is nice to use if traffic is clear in the two lanes closest to where you're starting to cross and will be clear shortly after in the other two.
