Can we not drop classes through Joe SS? There's an option on there to do it, but when I try it gives me this:

Error: Unable to complete your request. You do not have access to perform this transaction at this time

What exactly is the point of that? It's a complete pain in the ass to get a hold of one professor, much less two.

The add/drop classes functions in Joe'SS are for the periods of enrollment before the beginning of a semester.

Afterwards, they require you to get your instructors signature so that they have proof that the instructor knows that you are leaving.

Hey I'd say making it 8 semesters until I dropped my first class was pretty good.

I think it is actually the THURSDAY before semester starts. I tried last semester on Friday, and I couldn't....

Some guy walks in to the middle of my linear algebra class, while the prof was lecturing and expected him to sign his drop slip for a different class. When the prof refused, he couldn't figure out why.

WTF?

Isn't it sweet how on the Registrar's main page there is a handy dandy pdf titled, "Academic Dates and Deadlines"?
