Does anyone know how FedEx's package tracking works? My package said that it " Departed FedEx location " yesterday at 8:05 AM, but hasn't said anything yet. Is this normal or bad? Needless to say, I'm a little anxious.

What city did it leave from? I've had stuff sit at Departed Fedex Location for a few days if it was leaving somewhere halfway across the country.

Of course, if you paid for overnight shipping or it left somewhere relatively close to Rolla, I'd be worried.

i wouldnt worry to much about it.. if you had 5-7 day delivery... if by the 3rd or 4th day id start worrying.. its possible the package is being transfered by train.. i had a package come that way by ups and it didnt update for a few days either.. i dont remember if fedex uses trains though.
but i wouldnt worry to much about it unless there arnt anyupdates within the next few days... now if u paid for overnight or 2nd day or w/e then id be calling them up.. but if its standard ground just wait it out

I know Baron Aviation up at Rolla National does some cargo hauling for FedEx. Granted they only have a Cessna 208 so they don't do everything.

I'm having the same issue right now, i'm waiting for a package from michigan. It said that it's estimated day of delivery is today, but it hasn't said anything about the progress of the package in the last two days. I'm also very anxious to get it.

Fed Ex sucks. I had something shipped from New York (state) and all it said was departed until it got to Berkley MO, it was delivered the same day. I wouldn't sweat it.

Fedex is the best by far in my experience. my packages have always come quicly, their drivers are considerate. the only shipping trouble i've ever had with them is actually due to sellers not giving them the package.

they beat the snot out of ups.

I haven't done enough shipping to attest to which is better overall, but in my experience, UPS's tracking is MUCH better than Fed Ex's...

ive done a ton of shipping throught fedex, ups, usps, and dhl.. as well as a freight company here and there.. ive never had any major issues with any of them.

if a box gets enough damage they will check the contents and repack it into a new box.. if the item gets damaged they will typically contact the shipper to see what they want to do. As for shipping times.. they are usually perty damn accurate.. but not always updated properly. At one point with fedex i had a package in my comptuer before the website ever updated beyond information sent from shipper.

If it doesnt show up within a day or two of the estimated arrival date give the respective company a call (in this case fedex) and they will do what they can to find your package and get it on its way

In my experience, Fedex and UPS both online tracking sucks, unless you are doing 3 days or less shipping. Anything over that, and its pretty much useless.
