My brother's trying to find a Wii and had no luck up in St. Louis, so he asked me to see if anywhere near Rolla has any in stock. I tried calling all of the Wal-Marts within a 30 mile radius, as well as the K-Mart here, no luck. Any other stores in the area that I'm missing? I'd be willing to go about 30 miles or so, because I love driving on the curvy backroads around here and will use any excuse to do so, and he'll pay for my gas if I have to go any further than the Wal-Mart here
Well I don't keep up with the where and when they come anymore. If you asked me 2 weeks ago I could have given you a exact time/place since there was money to be made and people who could track incoming shipments for a price but that time is gone for now.
If your looking to get them from Rolla Walmart they'll get them in Tuesday or Wednesday nearly every time, at least out of the 5 times I got them there it was 2 apiece and then a Friday.
St Roberts Gets them MTF generally, Salem on Monday, Cuba TR
They'll also hold them over until Sunday circulars and won't let you buy them until then, even if it means holding for 5 days.
Kmart has only gotten 3 shipments from launch day(9 consoles total) so don't bother with them. Sam Goody is closed but they never touched a single unit. EBgames/Gamestop are to far away but they sell out so quick it's not funny, plus allot of the employees buy them for a quick turnaround.
No matter what they say Wal-Mart will never know when they get them coming in, not even the managers. This is pretty obvious because nearly every time I bought a Wii/PS3 after launch I'd let them know I was waiting in line to buy one and they'd always try to run me off until the truck would come. After I did that a couple times then they caught on and never gave me much of a hassle, just a smirk or two. Most just wanted to know how I knew that when they didn't even.
Up until recently you could have made a quick dime buying Wii's 3-4 times a week and selling them on ebay for 50-150 buck profit. Depending on how much of them you buy per store and having a Paypal debit card you could rotate Mondays purchases to pay for Wednesdays and so on making a cool 300-500 bucks a week.

I heard that the Cuba Wal-Mart had ~20 of them a few days ago.
This is third party information but you could call and check../

What I ended up doing was buying the Wii with 6 games on walmart.com. They were only selling as a bundle. It cost a shitload of money to do it that way, but then I took 3 of the games back to the Walmart here in Rolla and got my money back. So if you can afford to put that temporarly on credit card, or take the hit to your bank account on debit then its a pretty good way to get one.

This morning we had Wii's go through UPS to the area walmarts.. so i would imagine that when ever walmart does their shelve stocking they will be getting put up.

just get him a gamecube, same graphics and zelda twilight princess is better on the GC anyways.
Blatant lie.
Its NOT a lie. The original Xbox has better graphics, or at least "black" has better graphics than ever game out right now on the wii. And I've played 3-4 hours of zelda on wii and 10+ hours on GC and the GC version was funner to me becuase it is easier to control.
Now Wii sports is fun as hell to play with a group and is the only reason to buy a wii.

Is there any chance we could not start a fucking console war?
I thought the same thing about Zelda:TP when I started playing it but once you get used to the controls the Wii is the easiest and most intuitive.
The Wii also doesn't have any games that beat the Xbox's best games yet but they will. don't forget the the Video card used in the Wii/360 (identical card, also more pipelines then the PS3 and has more bandwidth) I imagine that most Dev's are more interested in the controls then graphics at the moment and I personally agree.
Zelda may not look like Resistance or Gears of War but it wasn't made to be compared to them. This is no different then the Nintendo DS vs Sony PSP. One may have better graphics but if no one makes any good games for it then graphics really doesn't matter to much then.

Z:TP is lots of fun once you get used to the controls. It takes a while. As for graphics, if you have a SD tv there's no difference between Wii/PS3/X360 (or is there?) I don't see how GC graphics can be better than Wii's either.
