the UMR parking nazi's were really slamming the boot on people's cars today. did they get a new toy & are trying to make people hate them even more?
what is wrong with this school?

then they shouldn't be writing tickets for every possible trivial thing they can.
i'm sure they don't care if their tickets are appealed. all they have to do is send a form e-mail that says
<insert name>,
Thank you for taking the time to file an appeal. The Parking Committee has voted to deny your appeal.

I've almost gotten a ticket before. I was in the 30-min loading zone for a few minutes over the limit, and they were about to write me a 30$ ticket. The only reason I got off was because a friend of mine whom I was giving a ride was waiting there for me, and said I was gonna be right out.
The other car wasn't as lucky...
But yeah, I refuse to park outside my lot anymore because they'll write you up for Buddha knows what...

Over the summer, I had parked in the lot behind EE (didn't have a permit for it) for a few hours, but figured it was OK because the lot was empty....there were, maybe 3 other cars in it. Nope, got a ticket, well, a warning actually, but still. Damn lot nazis. It must've been 100 degrees outside, if I was a cop, I wouldn't leave my nice, air conditioned car to write someone a ticket for that.
wouldn't it just be easier to not park where you aren't supposed to?
gee, mr. fucking wizard, how long did it take you to come up with that line?
the point is that they are ridiculously overbearing and petty. they will write tickets before a meter expires. they will give a permit holder a ticket if their tire is touching the white line. they have an entire division of the campus police dedicated just to finding parking violators. go umr!

I'm going to go with a big "riiigggghhht". In 6 years at UMR I ONLY got tickets when I was where I wasn't supposed to be. The laws may be strict, but they aren't hard to understand.

While I've never seen anyone get a ticket before the meter expires, I've seen the pigs waiting at a meter that was about to expire so they could write up the ticket the second time ran out

I have gotten my share of tickets, but I pretty much deserved all of them. I can't complain, because the other day I parked in a meter, time ran out (I put in as much as I thought I would need, but I undershot it) so as I am walking out, I see the woman in the ?crown vic? parked behind my car. Immediately I think DAMN IT ALL TO HELL, but as I approach I get to my car and she puts the ticket on the car right beside mine. So I unlock my door, put my backpack in my car, and wait for my little present. She looks over, sees me standing there and just drives on. I wasn't going to complain, I was in the wrong, but I was sure as hell pleased to see she didn't give me a ticket......

Who agrees that the visitor parking spaces at the Multi are about the worst marked spots known to mankind? Took me 3 tickets to figure it out.. Probably would have got it sooner had I read the ticket a bit more thorough...

Not so, my girlfriend got her ticket dismissed last semester. If you aren't a dumbass when it comes to parking on campus, then you shouldn't have a problem.
