so if you're a freshman, and you haven't seen your car for the last 3 days, you might want to check it out. you're probably parked illegally, and tickets are accumulating faster than vetoed bills at the feet of president bush.

Zero.

He's a failure.

[edit]I was wrong. He's still a failure. Almost all of the legislation, including the general funding, has been unconstitutional, yet he signed it anyway.[/edit]

how about rather than bills vetoed, we just say that you'll have so many tickets, your bank account balance will decrease quicker than his approval rating

What is the Democrat controlled congress's approval rating?

Just slightly below the level of when they took over. I think the biggest complaint about the current congress is that nothing is being done with the war in Iraq. With Bush in office, and not enough votes in congress to override a veto, I don't think the Democrats are going to be able to get much accomplished with the war either...

Last I heard 18%, competing with Bush's 32%.

Speaking of illegally-parked cars, anyone notice the people parked on State Street across from the Quad (on the side of the street bordering Lot C), blocking most of the lane of traffic? I know the freshmen are new in town, but please think about where you park. (To let you guys know, parking is only on one side of State Street there...they just re-striped the side I'm talking about, because the stripe was admittedly really faint before). This did aggravate me, but I'm trying to not sound like a total ass.

Just slightly below the level of when they took over. I think the biggest complaint about the current congress is that nothing is being done because they are all bumbling idiots.

FIXED.

Well, that's pretty much a given, and I'm not interested in a political debate really, especially in a thread about freshmen being idiots, but the fact remains that congress did pass a bill that provisioned for a timeline for withdrawl (as promised by the democrats during election time). That bill was vetoed, they tried to override the veto, the measure failed (democrats don't control 2/3s of congress, of course), and the democrats had to settle for a lesser version of the bill that didn't include the timeline. Did the democrats make claims they couldn't live up to? Obviously... But are the democrats entirely responsible for the low approval rating of congress? I'm not so sure... especially when many polls put the democrats significantly ahead of the republicans.

Back on topic... Living near a cop has its perks. He comes through and tickets parking violators in his spare time, and since he lives right by, he can keep track of the dormies that park for more than 72 hours in the same spot.

Me neither... I just can't help but grab the low hanging fruit when someone throws it out there...
