Wasn't sure where to put this topic, so I guess here will do. I need nice restaurant suggestions for Columbia. My fiancee goes to vet school up there, and I'd like to take her out this weekend somewhere really nice, but I'm not all that familiar with the Columbia restaurant scene. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Sycamore was really nice.

Good wine selection, and the food was very good. Probably one of the best places in town.

Also, I reccomend going to Q's for lunch. It's a very nice Chinese place on Nifong (sp?). Way above your average chinese buffet, and the waiter looks like Jet Li. But for some reason I've never considered it a dinner date location...

Colossians3: I just knew someone was going to say that... :P

mad duck: Sycamore looks nice, will definitely keep in mind. Been to Qs before actually. I remember I ordered sake. The way they worded the portions on the menu gave me a much different idea of what I'd be getting than I actually got. Let's just say, I got way more sake than I expected to. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions!

CC's Broiler has some VERY nice steaks, and their menu is excellent.
Be prepared to spend a few bucks, though, it isn't very cheap.

Flatbranch was a favorite of my wife's while she went to school there. She loved their artichoke dip. Definitely not a dressy place (it is half a bar/brewery), but the food is excellent.
