READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE!!
On IRC, it was discussed that Seek42 do something new this year, like a BBQ event. I am posting to find out what would be best for the most people. Things I am interested in are:
Weekday afternoon/evening or Weekend Venue (Schuman Park/Havener Lawn/some other park) Timespan (start time) Other stuff to do besides eat
I have an awesome grill that I would be willing to bring out to cook the foodz, but getting foodz is another issue that would need to be addressed since this is not a University-Supported event.
I am thinking that there should be some sort of a registry so that 1) we know how many people are coming, and 2) have a way of distributing food cost (i.e. cycles through the order of registration: 1st person brings a small package of hamburger or hot dogs, 2nd person brings a bag of chips, 3rd person brings 2 liter and a package of cups or plates or something, and the rotation starts over.)
SO, if you vote that you are interested, post what days would work for you (M,T,W,R,F,S and weekday/weekend preference as well), where you want to have it (especially if you picked other), and when a good time is for you on both weekdays and weekends (specify your time needs for each instance).
WHEN YOU VOTE, you have 3 votes to distribute, use one in each sub catagory, the first being which day would work best, Don't vote on the sub-category title. If you aren't interested, vote only on the "WHERE" sub-catagory title. Sorry this isn't more structured. PHPBB3 can only do so much for this...
VOTE CLOSES IN 2 WEEKS (APR 21) UPDATE X2-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Based off of the turnout with the votes so far, it looks like Friday evening may be the best compromise.
2)As of right now, it is tentatively scheduled for FRIDAY, APRIL 25th, weather permitting, starting at 4:00PM, and running until at least 7:00PM. Bring some frisbees or something fun to do as well.
3)Based on the votes so far, there is an overwhelming preference for Schuman Park. As for which pavillion, just look for the one with more people under it.
The registration page is nearly complete. A link will be placed here as well as on the home page. I HIGHLY recommend you register, as we will be buying food beforehand, and if you don't register, you will be part of a problem I'd rather avoid (market runs). There will be a fee of $3, payable when you arrive. If you want something special grilled up, feel free to bring it as well.
BYOB, but mention your preferred non-alcoholic beverage you would like to see at the event.

I am fine for any day during the week, Don't care about time.
Weekends are shit for me.

I'm good with weekends, personally. I could do weekdays if necessary, but it would have to be later in the day (post 6pm times). I've got late classes on Tuesday and Thursday (Physics lab tuesday and RC class crap on thursday). Other than that I'm fine. And I really don't care about where it is. And other stuff we could do...Not sure, lolz.
6:00-8:00 block is open for me every day... weekend/weekday wise, it really depends on which weekend it is. Weekday might be better.
I threw up other on location - the firing range (though I've never been there) is supposed to be a good place to have bon fires, so we could have our barbeque then burn stuff. Other than that, Schuman is fine. Havener lawn would be cool too... talk to Candace in student life to see if you can do it though.

The contract with Chartwells states that if food is to be distributed on campus, you can only have(i believe) up to $75 of food. If there is more than $75 of food at this gathering, Chartwells must cater it. F'in Chartwells.

The chartwells contract sucks. I hate that company.
As for Lion's Club, unless I was able to set up some sort of shuttle service (highly doubtful) I doubt many people would come, seeing as it is way out of walking distance (unless you devote 1.5 hours for walking both ways).
Also, the times mentioned are a starting time window, this thing could go on well into the night if everyone is having fun. I just wanted to see when the best time to start would be, and it is looking like about 5:30 might be winning.
If anyone reading this is in ACM, can I borrow your MinerLAN registration page code? It would be perfect for this type of thing (sans the paypal links though).
And to the one person that voted on the Time subcatagory title... WHY?

Yeah but that rule is all food in Havener and meals at university functions across campus. There is no rule against a random group of students having a bbq somewhere on campus.

Since Seek42 is not campus-sanctioned, I have no intentions of trying to get the university to support this event. Without their backing, maybe it won't be a problem to have it there. Still, though, Shuman park has the most votes so far...
Also, voting for the "where" catagory title means that if this were to happen, you still wouldn't go.
Just as an option so I have an idea of the general opinion.

Oh, I thought it meant you don't care where it is. If I had to choose, Schuman, but I really don't care where, as long as it's in Rolla, I plan on going
