I'm Kate (the other EIC of the MineShaft). First, brief news update - we finally got funding, and are definitely starting back up next year at the beginning of next year!
This means we really need a staff together by the end of the summer. We need writers (esp. those that want to cover sports or campus events). A writer should be able to write a half-page article in an afternoon if necessary.
Also, we need a layout editor by graduation so that you can get trained for next year! This isn't hard, apparently just takes about 30 mins a week, which anyone can easily commit to, and it looks good for a resume, and you don't have to write unless you really want to!
If anyone's interested in any of these positions, or if you want to write for fun next year on occasion, reply to this or email me at kjocpf at mst.edu or you can email ben williams or you can email theMineShaftReturns at gmail.com

I was a photog for the Miner, but after about 3 months of "source photos" I guess I was fired so if there is a photog position open please contact me at acc7x3@mst.edu

Encase anyone is interested I believe they are still welcoming new writers. Contact Kate with the information above and she should be able to help you.

Is there a way to sign up to get the pdf again? or where can I find it on campus - I used to just have people randomly walk up and hand me one in Havener at lunchtime - but I don't eat lunch on campus anymore.

What I feel is wrong with the MineShaft (and the Miner for that matter) is a serious lack of the Dilbert, it was definitely the only reason I read the Miner back in the day. But I am sure that costs money, so I can't blame you.
And I might be alone on this suggestion, but I get my news from alot of places, I would like to see a bit more commentary from the MineShaft, I know it is first and foremost a newspaper, but I would love to see more opinion columns, something that really sets in apart from just regular old news sources.
