And thanks to threads like that, that trend will continue. Lambasting new members like that is why Seek42 is dying, unless that is the idea here (to kill Seek42)...

If you all want Seek42 to be an interesting place that actually has more than .72 posts per day, I'd suggest showing more civility to newcomers, otherwise this site will inevitably go dormant.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good Troll-fest. My main concern is opening the floodgates of hell on someone before they fully understand the greatness of what they've stepped into and scaring them away. I'd recommend resisting the urge to troll someone with fewer than 50 posts (no matter how tempting and fun it might be) just to give them enough time to realize what this is, then go full throttle.

Hell, as long as you completely understand the consequences of your actions, I don't care what you do.

I had the same concerns as ShadowCat before I found the details of this particular situation. Honestly, I don't think this guy got too much for how dumb he is/was. In general though, I would like it if people didn't just run new people away, this isn't everyone's private chat board. I expect there will be alumni that come by here from time to time that want to catch up on what's going on.

Cute sentiment, but really now. When can we quit pretending that this board didn't die about two years ago? This particular thread is the most excitement/longest string of continuous posting in nearly that long.

So what's the new thing the kids are using these days?

A complex system of sounds, body language, and listening.

To be honest, I hate it.

(Also, there is occasionally a small amount of chatter over a certain medium discussed in a certain forum.)

Happiness and Rainbows isn't growing very fast, but it might evolve into something new and hip for the kids these days. Keep them away from the MTV and drugs. Hell, I even have a banner idea for it that consists of the Missouri Highway 42 sign (one of the ones in Vienna). It'll be derptastic.
