Does anyone know the website that has all of UM system professors' salaries. It was posted last year, but I can't find it.

WOW...

I never knew assistant professorship was that lucrative.

That Ph. D. might not be a bad thing after all..

Ditto here. I actually like going to lecture, learned a lot, and he was actually somewhat entertaining. Probably the best Prof. I have had so far.

That's nothing. Dr. Leu is one of the campus' biggest moneymakers. He has so many grants coming in it's not funny. Each one he gets he uses it to build something on to his empire so he can attract another one.

I ain't knocking it; I'm just sayin'.

Case in point: check out the CAVE:

You guys do realize that actual teaching is the last thing a professor is responsible for, correct? If you wanted a place that stressed teaching, then you should have gone to a smaller university or a trade school and not here. Seriously, this topic is getting very old and most of you should just shut the fuck up and stop bitching already. Anyone who has the dedication to earn a PhD deserves whatever salary they get.

Actually, UMR used to place a heavy emphasis on teaching; It then switched over to research about 15-20 years ago... things are starting to move back to stressing teaching again.

And as far as I'm concerned a PhD means shit if you've got nothing to back it up. Some of the "professors" listed here don't. I firmly believe there should be a "teaching staff" and a "research staff"... If you really wanna do both, then you better be good in both. Some professors are worth gold for research (Dr. Leu) and don't need to be bothered with teaching. And then there are some that are so horrid at teaching that they should even get to peek in a classroom door window.

I find some of these salaries insane for what they contribute to UMR - damn tenure!

You don't like Bieniek because you're stupid. Though he can be an ass sometimes ... most of the time.
