Yea, so I just got dropped from a class that I was making an 87% in. The prof. dropped me because I missed 4 days of class. Dropping me the day after the final drop date (which will result in me getting a WD on my record), not only screws up my transcript, but thats a lot of money down the toilet. Regardless of my attendance, I was doing well in a class I paid for, and don't beleive the prof. had any business dropping me. Tell me what you think.

if it is in the syllabus you should have gone to class. Did you talk to the Prof yet, file a grievance with the school or talk to the department head.
Personally how do you know you had and 87%?

I agree and I think adminastrative drops should be done away with. You pay for the class, then fuck the lazy ass prof. even if you were doing bad in the class, you fucking paid for it. If you get dropped by a prof, you should atleast get a 100% refund. Just because I am a nosy mother fucker, what class/prof was it?

I don't think I should tell the prof.'s name untill I take Mr. Trunks' advice and file a grievance. However, I can tell you that it was just a basic humanities survey course. I know I had an 87% because we only had one graded assignment (an in-class quiz) before he dropped me.

What is so hard about dragging your ass to class? If it was in the syllabus where he said that if you have 4+ absences you are dropped automatically, it is your own damn fault and you should deal.
News Flash: this isn't High School. Professors shouldn't have to waste their (and the rest of the class') time with students who don't want to learn. In the future you should read the syllabus and not be a dumbass.

Good fucking point, they shouldn't have to hold our hand, but why don't you enlighten me on how it wastes their time if you don't show up to class. THis is COLLEGE, you should be able to make your own decisions on going to class, you are after all supposed to be an adult. If you don't want to learn then that is your business and none of the profs. And just for the record, I am only in my third semester, but I have missed probably less then 4 classes. So I go to class, I just think that if you can pass without, then that should be your option.
Show up to class. If you read the syllabus it should have said you would be dropped after 4 absencess. Unless you have a vaild reason for not attending you will proably be dropped. Talk to the proffessor though, some may let you stay in the class.
so are you sure there wasnt anything in the syllabus about it? because i kinda doubt they would leave something like dropping you from the class out. If it isnt in there, then you probably have some grounds for a grievance. Even though you were lazy and didnt go to class, a stipulation like that should be in the syllabus. Anyways, at worst maybe you learned a good lesson this time, go to class and dont waste all that damn money. Dont give them a reason to drop you.
