If you have the other physics (non engineering) do you still have to take phys 23? My girlfriend is thinking about coming up here and her physics will transfer as 21 or what ever, so I was wondering if she would still have to take phys 23.
it probably depends on what she's majoring in. You can find all of that information on the ?registrar's? website.

Actually i've found it really depends on your advisor. A little hint to everyone, your advisor can basically do or say anything about your classes. If you want to take 21 instead of 23 just get your advisor to approve it.
and if that doesn't work, have your advisor sign off on 23 and register for 24-if you think you can pull it off. if i listened to my advisor, i'd be in a bunch of blow off classes to "raise my gpa" since that's all he's concerned about-and it isn't that bad anyways.
I took 21-22 and now I am in 24. So you don't have to take 23 to take 24. However, I am not an engineer. Also, sometimes they will reference things from 23 in my 24 class, and I don’t know exactly what they are talking about since we did it just a bit different in 21.

The question was about psy23, not 21. If you are going to be an engineer, you have to take 23 and 24. You might skate into 24 after 21 and 22, but why the hell take -two- classes in the place of one?

It's the same thing as taking the lab in Phys 23, are you retarded?
Maybe it's because in phy 23 it's actually a lab instead of having a different class designation. They saw 2 different numbers and made the obvious assumption that there were sequential classes. Do better, stop being retarded.

If that was in reference to my post, I did not give any advice, nor was I up in arms because an AC called somebody else retarded. That's why they're ACs.

You can transfer in phys 21 and have your advisor place you in 24 with out a problem. Yes Phys 23 is for engineers but the material cover in both 21 and 23 are almost identical. The differecne is that in 21 the is no boardwork and it is tought by a diffrent prof with a diffrent book. If your GF wants to come here she will most likly NOT have to take 23 and can very easly jump into 24. At most she will need to explane to here advisor that she is a transfer student who wants to do engineering.
