I'm just wonderin who all plays guitar here at UMR, and if anybody wants to get together and jam, and maybe better our playing skills in the process...
I can play two songs from memory and I can read tabs pretty well. I dont own a guitar though on account of how I suck at it. oh well.

I'm over in TJ and like to play mostly blues and rock. I've got my Samick accoustic and my Fat Strat here. A jam sounds like a good time. I'll be gone this weekend but perhaps during the week or next weekend.
Man you should get yourself a guitar, forget school, play guitar, damn i wish that logic would work. I like to play everything, I'm still working on classical gas, its not as hard as it looks or sounds shockingly enough...

Wow, there are more musically inclined people here than I thought. Still no local shows happening. It's sad. I have to drive back home to catch a show. We need a decent venue here and some awesome bands that frequent it. That would make me happy.
If anyone knows of some good shows to go to, let me know. (Besides Freakers Ball, I will be at a different show in STL that night.)

My friend, who I just found out belongs to a band that plays frequently in columbia, sent me a picture of her band, I was expecting a picture of a bunch of guys playing guitars...HOLY CRAP was I wrong, I opened the picture and there was a bunch of HOT HOT HOT women playing taylor and martin guitars...oh man...I was in heaven for a moment...then i realized i was still in rolla...
Yeah, i've played guitar since 8th grade, but have been mia for the past 2 years. I started playing again recently (recently got started on Alice In Chains unplugged stuff). I got a 1979 Gibson Les Paul, a Schecter 007 Diamond Series, and a Goya acoustic (old spanish guitar my dad had when he was a kid). I'd like to learn classical gas, but it's definately been too long to start on that yet, maybe when i'm finished with some AIC i'll try it.

I think I've had a guitar since I was 5. I never really got into it though until about a year ago...but then again I also play the piano, harmonica, violin, banjo, mandolin, steel guitar...and I want a dobro...I can play piano the best, everything else i just know "a little" about...I used to work at a music store...saturdays with no customers was a great learning experience...

I play. I started when I was 8, but haven't practiced consistently since then. I've been practicing a lot for maybe 4 years or so now. I use a gibson les paul studio lite (hence my name), a vox valvetronix to practice, and I have a peavey 5150 II head with a Marshall 1960A 4X12 (not here ). I also have a pretty cool custom Hamer that I keep at home . Anyway, I play a a fair amount of stuff. I live in TJ. I wanna jam. Contact me!!! I'm going home this weekend for a band practice. But other than going home for that every other weekend or so, all I do is homework(:( again).
Well since everybody is talking about what kind of guitars they have, I have a 1997 Gibson les paul studio and an alvarez thinbody electric acoustic...I'm trading them both for a 714ce taylor in about a month, and for amps I have a 5 watt class A tube amp that crate made this year for there 25 anniversary...theres only 50 of them...and they weren't even for retail sale, i just happen to know somebody who works for st louis music and thats how i got one, even though it may be small, it still sounds incredible...I also have a cheap mandolin...

I'm not sure if this is a "yes, I want to jam." or a "no, I would rather not jam."
