I look at homosexuality much like I look at obesity. Homosexuality does occur in nature, and there are probably a percentage of people who are born homosexual. Likewise, there are a percentage of people who are naturally predisposed towards being obese.
However, much like obesity, the percentage of people who are homosexual is larger than the percentage who would be simply because of genetics.
So, like obesity, there are probably a significant number of people who are homosexual by nature, but the majority of them probably are by choice (be it a conscious choice or not).

Im not sure if people can be born gay.
I haven't seen enough evidence that supports it. It basically comes down to whether homosexuality comes from being raised a certain way or the chemicals in your brain. Personally I believe that homosexuals are raised in a certain pattern that makes them this way, just like how heterosexuals are raised. There is a trend among people whom are homosexuals that come from dysfunctional families or single parent homes. Im not saying that the family enviroment isnt the only thing that makes people homosexuals, but I think it is a big factor. Then again, Im an engineer, not a psychologist, and I only know a handful of homosexuals.

I believe that I heard somewhere from a credible source (I can't remember where) that about 10% of the world population is made up of homsexuals.

Okay, let's post a poll on seek42 then, and see what percent are gay, and what aren't. If registered members can vote without showing which WAY they voted, then it should be pretty unbiased, as far as seek42 users go.

Homosexuality isn't hereditary. hahaha Too bad this isn't what the post is discussing... then this post would actually be of some significance other than humor.

If I recall correctly, homosexuallity was once considered a mental disease/disorder (can't remember which one), untill the Gay and Lesbian Task Force got that changed. I could be way off with this one, so don't take it too seriously.
All in all, I would have to say that I agree with BigPeeOn, even if homosexuallity isn't a mental disease/disorder.

For all of you that think that you were born gay... I feel bad for you when you were getting birthed by your mother. It must have been scaring to witness a vagina upclose. I bet that if you were born gay that you have blocked this image form your mind... for all time. I remember the event quite vividly. So there I was... covered in a gel that I could later compare to a vial of ooze I saw on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles many years afterwords. Then a bright light. Awww... blinding light. A strange man is standing there... trying to pull me out. Wait! He's not wearing gloves! Oh no... whos this large black woman? Momma Sahri? Auuughh! Why is she spanking my ass! Wait... I kinda like that... oh shit... think to self... "not born gay... not born gay... not born gay". Ok, I think I've made it.... now I must choose on my own free will.
Damn you free will...DAAAAMMMNN YYOOOOOOUUUU!!!!!!
I made it though. Know I am liv'n la viva vagina... and have never looked back on what could have been. A dark stinky road... full of strangers in the dark, lonely prisoners, da vinci members, and priests. Travle not that road my son... travle not that road.

Wow.
On another note, predisposition doesn't mean anything. It's just a probability, or a likelihood. All it means, really, is that it's easier to be gay or easier to be fat. No one is born with it, it's just that some really seem to prefer it. I could get thin, I just don't want to. Sometimes I act gay, but it doesn't mean I am. No one is, they just act that way.
All I have to say about controlling sexuality is this:
I could never be gay; I have zero control over it.
So before anyone says people choose to be gay and therefore can choose not to be gay, keep in mind how little control you have over your own sexuality.
