I'd recomend calc 2. Physics might be kind of hard in that short of a time period.

If you take Phys 23 over the summer, you won't have to deal with Bieniek. Which is a plus. As far as I know, they don't offer Math 15 over the summer, only Math 21. Which means if you take it, it'll be the 5 hour course that Math majors take as well. And if it's like it's been for the past couple of years, then Dildowitz (Roman Dwilewicz) is probably teaching it. I took it over the summer two years ago, and he did a good job of teaching it then. He's apparently a bastard for Math 325 (I think that's Partial DiffEq), but he's not bad for Math 21.

So in all honesty, it doesn't really matter... Just take one of them. I'd recommend Math 21, but that's just me.

They do offer math 15 over the summer. It goes for 2 hours straight, 5 days a week. Not that hard, but really fast paced. And from what I heard they are a lot less strict on writing out your work on homework and tests. I herad that vojita teaches physics 23 over the summer, and the few times that she filled in for Bienick, I actually learned physics. So both are good ideas.

I took both last semester (WS04) and Calc 2 was much easier than Phys 23. So....would you rather take a hard class or an easier class during the summer?
I had Vojta for my TA. She is great at teaching, knows the material excellent, but grades harsh from my experience.

Last summer, Vojta taught the summer course of Physics.

If that's the same this summer, I'd definately take it, because she's good, and she's a bit easier than Bienick.

I had Vojta for my 23 recitation and I thought that she was a horrible teacher. I don't know what everyone's deal with Beinick is...I thought he was a decent person and he taught the class well. I recommend the calc route. A former roommate of mine used to teach one of the calcs in the summer and they are a lot easier on you than during the year.

I'd go with Math 15. I'm sure taking that over the summer, you won't be in danger of having Bekker for it. And I also don't understand why everyone hates Bieniek. He is a real good teacher, he just has to put on a drill seargent routine. And, I've found that Bieniek keeps me awake better in class than Vojta does. Also, Bieniek has Monty Python movies before all his classes, that is reason alone to take him for Phys 23.

As I recall, you have to either be enrolled in or have already taken Calc II in order to take Physics 23. At least as of the beginning of the semester. I dropped Calc II early on and took it at my local community college. Definately easier, plus I haven't had any real difficulty with anything because of it.
