They owned a computer a year ago, maybe the RIAA is just slow. Either way they had to get the name from somewhere, they don't just pull first and last names out of a hat and look in the phone book.

No, but its possible that their tracking abilities of random users is bullshit. Most likely someone else was using some random IP address or username crap that they took for those people. Or there have been cases of people paying for internet service through someone elses name - I think when I started renting here there was someone signed up and pretending to be living here under some other name and sending checks from out of town so they could use dial-up or something. (You really can get alot through dial-up if u leave it on 24/7).
