Nothing like trying to stop Bush's Axis of Evil all at the same time. Does anyone remember how far their missles went in that Test in July? I want to say they made it to Midway or Pearl Harbor but I'm not sure. So i guess now we have Isreal vs Iran and NKorea vs South&Japan
Yea, I think there was some malfunction that caused the missles to crash far short of the intended distance but N. Korea said that the crash was intentional.
That wikipedia page said the missle's range is roughly 4,000km or 2,800 miles. I found this crappy picture with North Korea with a 4,00km circle radius found in the bottem-left corner. Maybe it could hit midway but I think Japan would be the real target.
Nah, they can hit S. Korea with the Nodong missle. Japan is a far more likely target for the Taepodong missle. The Teapodong missle is essentially a Nodong missle with a big booster strapped to the bottom.

Why would they want to attack South Korea? They've never had any problems in the past.

The word "bi-partisan" usually means some larger-than-usual deception is being carried out.
If Japan was attacked things would be far worse, it would effect our economy, japan's goverment and force our hand seeing that Japan is tied closer to our economy then any other goverment.
N Korea and S Korea are still in a state of war, they're just enjoying a cease fire right now.
I highly doubt that N Korea will do anything rash, my guess is that they'll start threating countries who have economic restrictions with their goverment. To want the US and it's allies to open embargo restrictions and allow unrestricted trade or aid to their country.
I'm a little late, but over July I gave a speech on DPRK's missile and nuke program because of the 7/4 test. The Taepodong-2 crashed in the Sea of Japan ~35-40 seconds into flight, the Nodong's performed as they were supposed to, and I think they chucked off a few SCUD's, but I'm not sure about that. Theoretically the 3-stage variant of the Taepodong-2 could hit Rolla at the very edge (10,000 km) of its range. The 3-stage Taepodong-1 and the 2-stage T-2 could prolly hit Midway, if they could get the damn things to work.
